Mini With Pink

Cute Pink

Mini Skirts

The mini skirt above is quite unusual and “cute.”

The look of the outfit is a bit young, but the purse, cardigan and jewelry are more mature and sophisticated.  The shoes are both – young / cute and mature / sophisticated.

Don’t you love when you find a pair of shoes that can be worn by you and your sixteen-year-old daughter?

Where to Wear?

Wear this look shopping, to a girly event like a fashion show, to meet friends for lunch, to a party, to brunch, etc.

Investment Pieces

At first, I was going to say, nothing, but as I look at each of the pieces again, with the exception of the skirt, I love all of these as investment pieces.  I am loving those shoes.

Thoughts

A busy week at work – closing out the month and the quarter which means added work in a shorter period of time.  I don’t mind, though.  I like my job and when I’m busy, the day goes by faster.

Does the thought of “when will this day ever end” go through your mind while you are at work?  If so, maybe you should start looking for something else.  Believe me, life is too short to be working somewhere where you feel miserable.  Your job should bring joy and satisfaction and getting up each morning and heading to work should invoke happiness and eagerness.

Now, before you go and quit that job you are not loving, remember, you should have a new one lined up first.

Happy day, my friends.  Fondly, Sonya

Saturday Brunch

Saturday Brunch

Brunch

For your next Saturday brunch, why not wear a casual dress.

If you don’t have a pair of nude flats, this is the perfect time to shop for some.  Nude flats can be worn with just about any color.

I threw the scarf in for warmth.  It is spring, after all, and the temperatures are still a bit unpredictable.  (We love that about spring, don’t we?)  Use the scarf as a shawl.  If you get cold, just wrap it around your shoulders and arms.

Of course, if it is still pretty chilly where you live, then go ahead and add a light jacket or cardigan to this look.  Don’t worry – it won’t ruin it.

Where to Wear?

Wear this outfit to brunch, wear it to work on casual Friday, to a casual dinner, to the movies, to have coffee with friends, shopping, etc.  This is a pretty versatile look that can be worn just about anywhere.

Investment Pieces

The dress can be an investment if green is your color and this style works for your body type.  The pumps are an investment – you will wear these often.  The purse, the scarf, and possibly the belt are all investment pieces as well.

Thoughts

I will be heading to college, today, for a brunch with my daughter and her friends and their families.  It is mom’s week-end at her school.

For those of you who have college-aged children, don’t you find that each time you go and visit them at school, you leave with a few less dollars in your wallet?

For those of you who are in college, don’t worry about this.  You keep doing your thing – you know, studying, studying and studying.  (Yes, a subtle reminder as to why you are in college.) 🙂

Happy mom’s week-end, my friends.

Fondly, Sonya

Ruffled Blouses for Work

Ruffled Blouse for Work

Ruffles

Do your wear ruffles?  Pictured are some ruffled blouses perfect for Spring.

Where to Wear?

Wear ruffled blouses anywhere, really.  Depending on the “bottoms,” these blouses can be dressed up, under a blazer for work, dressed down with a pair of jeans, and so on.

Investment Pieces

Any one of these blouses can be an investment piece – assuming you love to wear ruffles and these coordinate with the other items in your wardrobe.

Thoughts

I’ve not been a fan of ruffles, but do like how soft and feminine they can be.  I’d wear the blouses above, though.  I can see pairing them with a pencil skirt for work, or even wearing them with jeans and heels for a casual, dressy look.

What are your thoughts about ruffles?  I have a few more ruffled looks to show you this week.  I know, I know…you can’t wait.  🙂
